My review

In the sixth book, Dante tries to do everything possible to help his girlfriend get rid of one of her curses, but for that he must go to a dangerous woman with dark magic. Therefore, he has to come up with a ruse, but in doing so he might endanger others. Dante needs more help to handle all his tasks now that he’s missing Jeep and D’ Maeo as members of his Shield. So, he decides to bring in a new ghost. She can do something very useful that helps in a battle against the enemy. Bringing this new spirit into the story sometimes creates some funny situations that lighten Dante’s tough battle a bit.

This book was a bit easier to read than the previous one because fun situations arose with the new addition to the Shield. I admire Tamara Geraeds who keeps adding new elements to the series. Where does she get it from? It shouldn’t be easy to write a series of nine books and give a different twist to a new story. Yet she succeeds in doing so.

I gave this book four stars.

Mijn recensie in het Nederlands

In het zesde boek probeert Dante er alles aan te doen wat mogelijk is om zijn vriendin te helpen van een van haar vloeken af te komen, maar daarvoor moet hij naar een gevaarlijke vrouw met duistere magie. Hij moet dus een list verzinnen, maar daarmee brengt hij anderen misschien wel in gevaar. Dante heeft meer hulp nodig om al zijn taken aan te kunnen, nu hij Jeep en D’Maeo als leden van zijn Schild moet missen. Daarom besluit hij er een nieuwe geest bij te halen. Zij kan iets heel handigs dat helpt in een strijd tegen de vijand. Door deze nieuwe geest in het verhaal te brengen, ontstaan er soms wat grappige situaties die de zware strijd van Dante iets lichter maken.

Dit boek las wat gemakkelijker dan het vorige omdat er leuke situaties ontstonden met de nieuwe aanwinst voor het Schild. Ik heb bewondering voor Tamara Geraeds die steeds weer een nieuw element aan de serie toevoegt. Waar haalt ze het vandaan? Om een serie van negen boeken te schrijven en steeds weer een andere draai aan een nieuw verhaal te geven moet niet eenvoudig zijn. Toch slaagt ze daar goed in.

Ik gaf dit boek vier sterren.
